Milwaukee Milkmen advance to Miles Wolff Cup Finals with East Division championship

FRANKLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) — The Milwaukee Milkmen are heading to the Miles Wolff Cup Finals.

Milwaukee entered Game 4 of the East Division Championship Series on Friday with a 2-1 series lead over the Kane County Cougars and needed just one more victory to advance.

The Milkmen took care of business at Franklin Field, clinching the best-of-five series in four games and moving one step closer to the franchise's second American Association championship.

Milwaukee's offense helped create some separation when Griffin Doersching launched a home run to left field, extending the Milkmen's lead to 4-1.

Franklin native Charlie Marion added to the lead in the sixth inning, finding open grass to drive in another run.

Milwaukee went on to secure the victory and take the series 3-1, punching its ticket to the Miles Wolff Cup Finals.

The Milkmen previously won the American Association championship in 2020 and will now have an opportunity to capture the second title in franchise history.

The Miles Wolff Cup Finals are scheduled to begin next week.
