A boost in temperatures despite the lack of sunshine
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The city of Milwaukee moves another step closer to final approval of the two new live music venues in Deer District.
The Common Council approved a zoning change needed to greenlight the $50 million project Tuesday, Nov. 1.
Madison-based FPC Live, along with concert promotor Live Nation and the Milwaukee Bucks, want to build two concert halls south of Fiserv Forum where the old Bradley Center once stood.
Several Milwaukee music venues have taken issue with the project, saying it could put them out of business.
But the president of FPC Live says the venues will have a lot to offer.
"It's not just gonna be music," said Charlie Goldstone, president of FPC Live. "It's gonna be comedy, it's gonna be special events, weddings, fundraisers, everything like that. The rooms are very flexible and versatile."
The smaller venue would seat 800 people. The other would have room for 4,000.
They are expected to open in early 2024.
