Milwaukee Padel community has a new space to play and grow the sport at Epic Padel MKE
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A new racquet sport is making its way to Milwaukee. It's not pickle ball, it's not squash and it's not tennis. It's called padel.
Padel is often described as a mix between tennis and squash. The sport started in Mexico and Spain and has grown popular across Europe and South America.
Now, Milwaukee players have a place to play close to home with the opening of Epic Padel MKE — the company’s second location, after its first opened in North Carolina.
The space features eight courts and an open fitness space, with beginner-friendly games that are typically played two-on-two.
The grand opening is this Friday, September 18. They'll have food trucks and tournaments all weekend long. Plus a live band on Friday, followed by a DJ on Saturday and a Packers game broadcast Sunday.
Organizers say they’re excited to see Milwaukee’s growing padel community continue to expand.
