Milwaukee Police Department's Anti-Gang Unit Makes Several Arrests
Six felons were arrested that had guns and drugs on them by Milwaukee Police Department’s Anti-gang unit.
In a span of five days, they arrested six felons who had guns and drugs on them. The arrests stem from the following incidents:
*On November 6, 19-year-old Armanti S. Jones was loitering in the 3600 block of N. Teutonia Avenue and was in possession of a concealed firearm. Jones was arrested and was charged with one count of Carry Concealed Weapon by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
*On November 6, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle in the 2900 block of N. 19th Street for a traffic violation. The men in the car, ages 28 and 34 are both convicted felons, and had marijuana on them as well as a firearm in the car. The suspects were taken into custody and face potential charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Carry Concealed Weapon, and Marijuana Possession.
*On November 9, MPD officers responded to a ShotSpotter call in the 1300 block of W. Concordia Avenue. During their investigation, the officers found a vehicle that had fled from them earlier in the day. The driver of the vehicle, a 40-year-old convicted felon, returned to the car and had a gun, bulletproof vest, and 3.6 grams of heroin on him. The man was arrested and this case will be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
*On November 9, officers were given information about a suspect who was attempting to sell a gun in exchange for drugs. The officers located the suspect in the 4800 block of N. Teutonia Avenue and conducted a field interview. A gun was found on the 37-year-old man who is also a convicted felon. He was arrested and this case will be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
*On November 10, officers were on patrol in the 3500 block of N. 23rd Street and noticed several subjects standing in front of an abandoned house. When officers attempted to talk to them, two of the subjects fled on foot. While they were running away, one of the suspects, a 29-year-old convicted felon on probation for 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, threw more than 5.4 grams of heroin on the ground. The other suspect, a 28-year-old convicted felon on probation for armed robbery, threw a gun on the ground and also had more than 5.4 grams of heroin on him. The officers arrested the suspects and this case will be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
