MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Police District 3 held their National Night Out celebration on Tuesday afternoon.
It was held in Washington Park and included live entertainment, free food, and plenty of refreshments.
One captain said it's all about positive interaction with people in the community.
"This is kind of like pushing back to that narrative of saying that we do care. It's important for us to get out there, to have that positive interaction, and I had to tell all my officers, be all in uniform. It's important for them to see us in a different light rather than always in a crisis," said Captain Jeffrey Norman with The Milwaukee Police Department.
There was also a free raffle and prize giveaway. People could get an up-close look at police and fire emergency response vehicles.
