MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It's Hispanic Heritage Month, and a free event was held Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Milwaukee Public Museum.

Educators at the museum led hands-on learning stations, all of which highlighted diversity and culture. The stations were centered around topics such as Hispanic art, history, and nature. 

One educator believes visitors will leave with a better understanding of not only Hispanic culture, but communities around the globe.

"Some of the items that we have at the education tables, or in our collections, transcend more than one culture and more than one community," said bilingual educator Bianca Vello. "So we really want to highlight the diversity, or how nature and food have influenced either food or activities or music, so there is a lot of things to come check out."
