Milwaukee Public Museum to stay open through 2026 before relocating
Milwaukee Public Museum MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Public Museum will remain open throughout 2026 before moving to its new location, the Nature & Culture Museum of Wisconsin, according to museum officials. The current building will close Jan. 3, 2027.
The museum will launch a year-long "Greatest Hits" celebration in Jan. 2026 featuring theme days, after-hours socials, guest lectures and activities highlighting the museum's most popular exhibits. The museum will also host its Food & Froth and Annual Gala fundraising events for the final time at the current location.
The Greatest Hits celebration includes five month-long programs: Ancient Civilizations runs Jan. 10 through Feb. 14, Diorama-RAMA from March 14 through April 17, Rainforest & Butterflies from May 7 through June 6, Dino Days of Summer from July 11 through Aug. 6, and Streets of Old Milwaukee & European Village from October through December.
