Milwaukee restaurants join 'Do Good with Food' event to benefit Children's Wisconsin
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Fazzari family, owners of local establishments Calderone Club and San Giorgio Pizzeria Napoletana, have rallied with more than 20 Milwaukee-area restaurants and breweries for the "Do Good with Food" event on Thursday, Aug. 24.
The event will raise funds for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, an organization that holds a special place in the hearts of Gino and Leanne Fazzari. Inspired by their daughter Vivianna's survival story, whose life was saved by the hospital's Emergency Department and Neonatal Intensive Care teams in 2013, the Fazzaris began the event in 2019.
Vivianna faced a life-threatening condition shortly after birth that required immediate intervention from the Children’s Wisconsin team.
Her recovery and continued ability to flourish has inspired the continued success of "Do Good with Food," taking place annually with the aim of addressing challenges related to access and availability of nutritious food through the Nourishing Partners Program.
Children's Wisconsin says in a press release announcing the event that over $50,000 has been raised since the program began.
