MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A quest for the ultimate morning cocktail is set to take place in Milwaukee as the city's best Bloody Mary will be crowned on Sunday, Feb. 25, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The contest will take place at the Italian Community Center in Milwaukee and is now in its 12th year. It aims to serve not only as a celebration of the brunch staple but also as a fundraiser for the Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation as it provides service to the bleeding disorders community in Wisconsin.
The Milwaukee's Best Bloody contest will bring in bartenders from across the city to showcase their unique recipes, with participants voting for their favorites in categories like Best Overall, Most Milwaukee, Most Like a Meal and Most Inventive. This year's event will support initiatives such as Camp Klotty Pine, the Wisconsin Bleeding Disorders Conference and emergency patient financial assistance.
Danielle Leitner Baxter, Executive Director of GLHF and Jack Roman from Third Street Tavern joined us on Monday, Feb. 5 to discuss the significance of Milwaukee's Best Bloody and its beneficial impact on the community.
