Milwaukee woman charged with arson, domestic abuse-related offenses following apartment fire

Wisconsin Court System

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee woman faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after allegedly setting fire to an occupied apartment building during a domestic dispute earlier this month.

Charges were filed Wednesday, April 23.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County Circuit Court, 28-year-old Rashamba Claybrooks is charged with arson of a building, arson of property, disorderly conduct and two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping.

All five charges are tied to a reported fire on Tuesday, April 8 near the corner of 30th and Capitol.

Investigators allege Claybrooks started a fire in a closet within Unit #105 following an argument with her boyfriend. A 77-year-old man, Sam Nash, was found dead on the scene, though the criminal complaint does not tie the investigation into his death into Claybrooks' charges.
