MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --- Festival season is right around the corner and seasonal workers are needed at Henry Maier Festival Park.
"We're having an in-person job fair to hire for all seasonal positions, said Derrick Harris, Security Director for Milwaukee World Festival, Inc.
Harris says the company will be focused on hiring for the next month or so.
"Every year we hire about 2,000 individuals to help us put on the world's greatest music festival," he said. Seasonal workers will be needed from May through October for a variety of special events, including Summerfest.
"Flexible schedules and pay raises from $14 to $22 an hour," said Harris. Officials say festival season generates more than $260 million in economic impact for Milwaukee. Available positions include security, food and beverage operations, ground and facilities, guest services and admissions.
"About 79% of our employees come from the city of Milwaukee. so that's great that the local community is helping us put on this great event that benefits not just Milwaukee but the whole southeastern Wisconsin," Harris said.
On-the-spot job offers were given during the hiring event. If you missed it, there will be another job fair held closer to the beginning of May.
