Milwaukee's 2019 homicide total surpasses last year

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The number of homicides in Milwaukee in 2019, has surpassed last year's total. 

As of Dec. 23, Milwaukee Police Department tells CBS 58 the number of homicides reported in 2019 is 98. 

Last year, the final total was 93 and that was down from 118 in 2017. 

In 2016, there were 168 homicides in Milwaukee.
