Milwaukee's abandoned boat, 'Deep Thought,' is now a bobblehead
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It's a story that just doesn't seem to go away. The newest bobblehead by Milwaukee's National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum is making a big splash with its model of "Deep Thought."
Deep Thought was the stranded boat, covered in graffiti, that became an inside joke of the city.
The boat was abandoned at the lakefront one year ago, then towed out in May.
The bobblehead museum announced they were making the bobblehead over summer and received nearly 1,000 preorders.
Now, you can get one in the store or have it shipped to you, with less than 100 days left before the holidays.
"We're always paying attention to what people are captivated with, and Deep Thought certainly captivated the attention of Milwaukeeans for several months when it was in the water, graffitied, and finally removed," said Phil Sklar, CEO of the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum.
They are also selling a paint-your-own version without the graffiti that comes with paints and a paintbrush.
When they sell out, the museum will do one more round of preorders after the holidays.
