MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A contest is coming up that offers attendees to drink local, learn about signature Bloody Mary recipes, and support those impacted by bleeding disorders.
The Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation (GLHF) is set to host its 11th annual "Milwaukee's Best Bloody" contest on Sunday, Feb. 26 at the Italian Community Center in Milwaukee.
The event allows local bars and restaurants to showcase their signature Bloody Mary recipes and garnishes while guests enjoy beer chasers and appetizers, as attendees vote for their favorite Bloody Mary.
Danielle Leitner Baxter, Executive Director of GLHF alongside Cayden Milton, Beverage Development and Operations Manager at Cafe Hollander joined us on Wednesday, Feb. 22 to discuss the details.
Milwaukee's Best Bloody is a fundraiser for the Wisconsin bleeding disorders community, including those impacted by rare bleeding disorders like hemophilia and von Willebrand disease. Almost 90% of the Wisconsin population impacted by these disorders resides in the greater Milwaukee / Waukesha area.
Proceeds from the help aim to support programs and services including Camp Klotty Pine, the Wisconsin Bleeding Disorders Conference as well as educational scholarships. Designated driver tickets are available and include non-alcoholic Bloody Mary samples.
The event is for those aged 21 and older. More information, including ticket information can be found by clicking here.
