MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward is gearing up for a busy month of events, so Jordan Dechambre of the Historic Third Ward Association joined us on Monday, Aug. 5 for a preview of what's ahead.
The Riverwalk Commons Concert Series kicks off with Evan Christian on Tuesday, Aug. 6 and returns on Tuesday, Aug. 20. The series will feature local acts and is set to include food trucks and games from 5 to 8:30 p.m. A happy hour runs from 5 to 6 p.m. on both nights. Live music continues at the Third Ward Beer Garden from Thursday to Saturday.
Festival season at Henry Maier Festival Park offers even more fun. The Bloody Mary Festival is set for Saturday, Aug. 10, followed by Irish Fest from Thursday, Aug. 15 to Sunday, Aug. 18 and Mexican Fiesta from*Friday, Aug. 23 to Sunday, Aug. 25.
Lakeshore State Park will host the Dragon Boat Festival on Saturday, Aug. 10, a Beer & Bonfire Night on Wednesday, Aug. 21 and a variety of hikes and educational activities throughout the month.
Hoancoming, a celebration of the Hoan Bridge, will take place on Saturday, Aug. 17, featuring live DJs, fireworks and themed scenic cruises.
The Third Ward Art Festival will close out the month on Saturday, Aug. 31 and Sunday, Sept. 1. The festival includes over 150 artists, live music and more. The Third Ward Beer Garden and other attractions will also be open during the event.
