Milwaukee's PrideFest set to kick off the 2023 festival season in June
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The largest LGBTQ+ event in Wisconsin has announced its return to Henry Maier Festival Park from June 1 - 3, to kick off Milwaukee's 2023 festival season.
Milwaukee Pride Inc. announced the dates in a press release on Wednesday, Feb. 15.
PrideFest was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the festival made a comeback in June of last year, breaking attendance records. 2023 marks the 35th edition of PrideFest and promises an increasingly diverse range of entertainment, with a focus on local and regional artists.
More than 500 entertainers will take to the festival's five stages throughout the weekend including the SKYYLine Mainstage, while the Dance Pavilion will host a massive outdoor dance party, billed in a PrideFest press release as "Wisconsin's largest outdoor dance party" is set to entertain thousands of festival-goers.
To further the cause of LGBTQ+ people living purposeful, healthy and happy lives, Milwaukee Pride announced that Vivent Health is the community partner and beneficiary of several fundraising efforts, including raffles, contests and more.
Milwaukee Pride also noted that they are still working on festival planning, with updates about the festival to be posted at PrideFest.com as they are announced, including ticket information, show schedules and other additions.
