MKE 2024 Host Committee surpasses fundraising goals, raising more than $85M

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- On Thursday, the Milwaukee 2024 RNC Host Committee announced it has far surpassed its fundraising goals - $85 million has been raised, the most ever by any host committee for a Republican convention.

Chairman of the MKE 2024 Host Committee Reince Priebus said, "The outpouring of support for this convention has been bigger than I ever imagined, and I'm proud of the work that the host committee did to reach this historic milestone... This is money that is going to be injected into our community to help throw this event. We're excited to greet the tens of thousands of guests traveling here next week and show them what Milwaukee has to offer."

The host committee says fundraising will pay for things like major venues, transportation, the welcome party and closing party.
