Owners of over 100 Burger King locations across Wisconsin accused of child labor violations

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- The owners of more than 100 Burger King locations across Wisconsin is being accused of sweeping child labor violations.

In a press release from Governor Tony Evers, the Department of Workforce Development (DWD) uncovered more than 1,656 violations of child labor and wage payment laws by Cave Enterprises Operations LLC. 

The enterprise operates around 150 Burger King franchise locations across Wisconsin. 

The violations, according to the state, occurred during a two-year span ending in January of 2025. 

Cave Enterprises faces massive penalties, which include around $237,000 for unpaid wages and another $828,000 fine. 

CBS 58 reached out to Cave Enterprises for a response and has not heard back as of Friday, Feb. 6.
