Milwaukee Fire Department highlights challenges for first responders
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- More than 800 Milwaukee students were in for quite the surprise Friday morning, Dec. 13.
Santa, Mrs. Claus, elves, and even the Grinch were at Longfellow School to give out gifts and throw a holiday dance party.
The Daisie Foundation partnered with the National Latino Law Enforcement Organization to make it happen, something its school's principal is grateful for.
"This is what we've always asked for giving the gift of happiness to our children. Today that's what they did. They showed when you give, when they get older hopefully, they can give back to their community. They're teaching them that with love," said Rosa Cerda-Castaneda, principal.
Principal Cerda went on to say this event was nine months in the making, and she kept it as a secret to herself the entire time.
