WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- New developments in the case of Morgan Geyser, the then-12-year-old who stabbed her classmate, motivated by the fictional character "Slender Man."

Despite a court order for her release back in January, Geyser remains at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute near Oshkosh. 

In new court documents, her attorney says Geyser was supposed to be placed in a facility in Sun Prairie. The facility backed out over publicity surrounding the case. 

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services is now searching for a new location. 

In 2012, Geyser and her friend Anissa Weier stabbed a classmate 19 times. Both were found not guilty by reason of mental defect.
