Mother of Elijah Vue releases statement from jail after child's remains identified

MANITOWOC COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Katrina Baur, the mother of Elijah Vue, has released a statement from jail after her son's remains were identified last week. 

A statement sent by her attorney reads:

"Katrina Baur is devastated by the most recent news, identifying the remains found as Elijah. She had continued to have hope that her little boy would be found alive. At this time, she is mourning the loss of her son."

Baur is charged with chronic neglect of a child, as a party to a crime, among other charges. 

Her next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 22.
