31-year-old arrested, charged in connection to motorcycle vs Amazon truck crash
RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 31-year-old Illinois man was arrested and charged in connection to a crash in Racine County.
According to a criminal complaint, Jonathan Bueche was driving an Amazon box truck in the village of Raymond on Highway K on Sept. 24, and collided with a motorcycle. The box truck collided with a motorcycle. According to officials, it appeared that the box truck failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn and turned in front of the motorcycle, causing the motorcycle to drive into the truck.
Two individuals were on the motorcycle during the crash. The driver of the motorcycle, 42-year-old Adam Hobach from Oak Creek, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger on the motorcycle was his juvenile daughter, who was wearing a helmet. The passenger was removed from the scene by Flight for Life. She sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the complaint, Bueche admitted to using marijuana around 10:00 p.m. the night before the crash. Deputies asked Bueche for two blood draws and he agreed. Results of the blood draws are pending. In between the blood draws, investigators completed a Drug Recognition Expert evaluation on which Bueche showed THC impairment.
Bueche is currently facing the following charges:
- Homicide by Vehicle- use of a controlled substance
- Operating with restricted controlled substance in blood causing injury.
Bueche's bail has been set at $50,000.
