Multiple people injured in Mount Pleasant police squad crash

MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Two Mount Pleasant police officers and a driver were involved in a crash at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Village Center Drive, authorities said.

The crash happened at around 7:32 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12 when a Mount Pleasant police squad occupied by two on-duty officers collided with a passenger car occupied by a man, according to Mount Pleasant police.

Airbags deployed in both vehicles. Everyone involved sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were evaluated by emergency responders, police said.

The Wisconsin State Patrol responded and conducted the crash investigation because a police squad was involved. The Mount Pleasant Police Department did not investigate the crash.

The crash is under review by the State Patrol. No determination regarding the cause has been released.
