Movie Theater Chain Starts Bag Security Checks

Tighter security screening is coming to one national chain of movie theaters, in the wake of recent violent incidents.   Regal Entertainment, based in Tennessee has added checks of all bags and backpacks brought to its theaters.   A policy statement on the company's website says \"Security issues have become a daily part of our lives in America.  Regal Entertainment wants our customers and staff to feel comfortable and safe when visiting our theaters.\"

Recent weeks have seen attacks at two theaters, a multiple shooting in Lafayette, Louisiana and a hatchet and pepper spray attack in Antioch, Tennessee.
