MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 10-year-old girl, who police say was shot by a 13-year-old on Dec. 13, passed away from her injuries. 

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office identified the 10-year-old as Trinity Johnson.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are currently investigating a shooting that took place on Wednesday, Dec. 13, in the vicinity of 39th and Hampton at approximately 12:05 a.m.

Police say that a 10-year-old sustained what they describe as a life-threatening gunshot injury and was transported to a local hospital for medical attention. Subsequently, a 13-year-old has been taken into custody.

Charges related to the shooting will be subject to review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.

The shooting is still under investigation and further details will be provided as they become available.
