MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 22-year-old man was arrested after police say he broke into a home near 14th and Layton in Milwaukee and battered a 99-year-old. 

According to police, it happened around 5:15 a.m. on Monday, July 27. 

Police say the suspect forcefully entered the victim's residence and beat them. 

The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries. 

The suspect was taken into custody. Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the coming days.
