Milwaukee police release video from shooting involving officers near Water Street
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police Department released video Monday, from a shooting involving officers in downtown Milwaukee on July 5.
The police department says officers patrolling the downtown entertainment district heard multiple gunshots near Knapp and Water Street and reported seeing an Audi fleeing the scene. Officials say while driving away, the 18-year-old driver struck an officer with his car, at which time multiple officers-including the injured officer- fired their guns at the vehicle.

The suspect vehicle was later located unoccupied near 12th and Walnut, according to police, and the driver- who was struck by the officers' gunfire- was found nearby. Police say one gun was located in the suspect vehicle, and another was found in the area.
The suspect- identified as 18-year-old Hunter Meyer of Rothschild, Wisconsin- was arrested and taken to a local hospital with non-fatal injuries. He's been charged with first degree recklessly endangering safety, hit-and-run causing injury, second degree recklessly endangering safety, carrying a concealed weapon, and fleeing/eluding an officer causing bodily harm.
The injured officer, a 25-year-old woman with less than a year of service, was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries.
The other officers involved are a 28-year-old man with more than seven years of service and a 27-year-old man with more than eight years of service.
All officers were placed on administrative duty as is routine in a critical incident. The Milwaukee Police Homicide Unit is investigating.
