MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police say a 31-year-old man sexually assaulted a 33-year-old victim at the Milwaukee Intermodal Station early Thursday, April 9. Upon discovering the assault taking place, security personnel reportedly stopped it, but it led to shots being fired.

MPD says the assault took place at around 6 a.m. with the assault suspect becoming combinative when security personnel intervened. That led to a shot being fired by security, though it reportedly did not hit anyone.

The situation is still under investigation, with the suspect having been taken into custody.

Charges are set to be reviewed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
