MPD: 3-month-old baby dies from injuries sustained in crash near 34th and Greenfield

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police say the 3 1/2-month-old baby who was in critical condition following an accident near 34th and Greenfield has died from her injuries.
Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the upcoming days.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Three people are seriously hurt, including two young children, after Milwaukee police say a driver lost control while speeding and crashed into a parked car near 34th and Greenfield.
It happened Monday, March 8, around 12:30 p.m.
According to police, the 35-year-old male driver was traveling well in excess of the posted speed limit when he attempted to pass another vehicle and lost control, striking the parked vehicle.
His passengers, a 27-year-old woman and 4-year-old girl, were seriously hurt. A 3-month-old baby girl was critically injured. All the victims were transported to a hospital for treatment.

At a news conference following the crash, Milwaukee Police Department Captain David Salazar indicated the children were not in car seats.
“It’s completely avoidable," Cpt. Salazar said. "It defies logic why you’d have children in a vehicle at that rate of speed unrestrained."
Police say the 35-year-old driver was not injured. He was arrested at the scene for OWI - causing great bodily harm. Criminal charges will be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
