Neighbors keeping 2-year-old in thoughts after Brown Deer shooting
BROWN DEER, Wis. (CBS 58) -- We're hearing from neighbors in the apartment complex where a shooting took the lives of three people and hurt one other happened Saturday morning, Feb. 5.
The shooting also left a child without parents, according to neighbors.
The last remnants of what happened at the Park Plaza Apartments parking lot are gone as police removed the last of remaining police tape Sunday.
"I called to see what she was doing and she was actually getting ready to take the dog outside and I was like no, no don't go outside it's an active shooting," Tracy Carter said she wasn't at home, but her mom was.
As Carter rushed back after hearing what was happening, police rushed to respond.
Passerby Mark Halbman witnessed it all.
"I seen the squads racing so I just turned down the road and the next thing I knew I was right in the middle of it and I got blocked in by the squads. But then I could see they were hauling a bunch of bodies out," said Halbman.
The 26-year-old suspect -- who went live on Facebook -- took the lives of a 31-year-old man, a 23-year-old woman, and hurt a 36-year old man. A 2-year-old child was inside the apartment he was in.
"I saw the video that the young man and posted and everything," said Carter. "Just very shocked and surprised to the situation."
Carter said neighbors there are keeping the child and the families involved in their thoughts.
"It's a sad situation for everyone involved, so I'm just really hoping that everyone can come together to find some sort of solace and peace, especially for the child involved," said Carter.
Police said this all appears to have started from a domestic dispute between two people
