New app offers low-stress bicycling map for riders in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Riding and navigating a bicycle through the busy streets of Milwaukee can be difficult, so the city is looking to change that by offering a new "low-stress" bike map

Created by the City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works (DPW), the interactive bicycling map can be accessed on a mobile device or computer to get directions using low stress streets that are comfortable to bike on.

According to a news release from the city, each street on the map has a rating between 1 (lowest stress) and 4 (highest stress) based on factors like how many people drive on the street and whether there is a bike lane.

Users can choose what level of stress they are comfortable with when getting biking directions. The map also has other bike-related information available, like where to find bike parking.
