MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Actors King Hang, Ashley Oviedo and Joe Lino joined us on Tuesday, Sept. 16 to discuss Next Act Theatre’s production of "Sanctuary City."
Written by Pulitzer Prize winner Martyna Majok, the play follows two teenagers in post-9/11 Newark, N.J., who were brought to the United States as children and now face life-altering questions about their future.
Known only as G and B, the characters grapple with friendship, love and survival while living under the uncertainty of undocumented status.
Ashley Oviedo plays G, a high school senior who recently gained citizenship. King Hang plays B, her longtime friend forced to choose between leaving with his mother or staying behind. Joe Lino portrays Henry, B’s supportive boyfriend navigating his own limits within the immigration system.
