Disappearance of missing Dane County couple considered 'suspicious;' son taken into custody

DANE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Detectives say they now believe the disappearance of Bart and Krista Halderson to be suspicious, and believe the couple's son, 23-year-old Chandler Halderson, provided deputies with false information.

Chandler was taken into custody at 9:30 p.m. Thursday night, for providing false information on a missing person case.

The Dane County Sheriff's Office continues to ask for citizens to contact them with any information.

DANE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Dane County authorities are asking for the public's help to find a missing couple from the village of Windsor. 

Officials say a family member reported 50-year-old Bart Halderson and 53-year-old Krista Halderson have not been seen since Thursday, July 1 at their home. They planned a trip to Langlade County, Wisconsin, but family has been unable to confirm they arrived safely. 

There is no vehicle associated with the couple.
