SLINGER, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Race car driving is back, and that means the sound of cars zipping around the quarter-mile track will fill the air in Slinger.
It'll kick off this Sunday, April 21 with Super Late Models and the Midwest Tour.
Slinger Speedway has 20 events planned for the 2024 season. That includes the Slinger Nationals.
"There's a lot of hype around that," said Brad Keith, a local driver. "That's in July, you get a lot of the NASCAR stars. That race can pay up to $20,000 to $25,000, so that's one of the biggest short-track races in the country annually."
Slinger Speedway is known as the fastest quarter-mile asphalt oval in the world. Tickets are still available for the event this weekend.
