MPS considers booting 2 charter schools out of district buildings
MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- As President Trump, Governor Walker, Speaker Ryan and others were breaking ground on the new Foxconn facility in Mount Pleasant a group of protesters were gathering in the same village.
A group including landowners, lawmakers, teachers and students say they are protesting corruption in Wisconsin in "Operation Shake the Ground" at Smolenski Park. Hundreds showed up from across the state to show disapproval of the Foxconn deal.
Some of the groups protested the acquisition of land for the Foxconn project and others were upset about job inequality.
The groups marched from the park to Mount Pleasant City Hall and back.
Democratic candidate for Governor Matt Flynn attended the rally, "It's an illegal contract and illegal contracts are not enforceable in the state of Wisconsin. $4.5 billion over the course of 15 years will bring the state close to bankruptcy if we want to fund our public schools and University of Wisconsin. It's a very crooked deal."
No known arrests were made with any of the protests.
