CEDARBURG, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The City of Cedarburg canceled it's popular Strawberry Fest last summer and this summer due to the pandemic. In response, the local shops of Cedar Creek Settlement decided to hold a celebration of their own.
The event featured many of the Strawberry Fest's iconic foods, including strawberry brats, beer, and wine.
While it's not the while strawberry fest experience, many people still had a great time.
"It's summer, it's Strawberry Fest weekend," said Steve Danner, General Manager of Cedar Creek Winery. "Although Strawberry Fest is not going on, lots of people still wanted to do something, we wanted to still have something for folks who wanted to get out."
"It's still great," said Cedarburg resident Jack Sprinkman. "Obviously you'd prefer to have the whole shabang, but it's still fun to have something like this for everyone to come out and have fun."
Organizers for 'Summer Fair' are hoping Strawberry Fest returns next year.
