Our little Summer Preview is now over; cooler air set to return

NOW: Our little Summer Preview is now over; cooler air set to return
NEXT:

If we can be honest for a split second, it was extra toasty on Friday. Highs soared well into the 80s, with Milwaukee tagging 84 degrees. That's the warmest day we've had so far in 2025!

We really got spoiled over the past week with all of the warm air across southeastern Wisconsin.

As nice as that may have been, we knew it wasn't going to last. And now for about the next seven days, we won't see anything warmer than middle 60s.

Part of the reason for the cooler air to linger: wind direction. The warmth we felt on Friday was due to a stout southwesterly wind, helping to push warm air into the region. For the next several days we get locked into a northeastern wind, right off of the cool waters of Lake Michigan.

Even our inland locals are going to struggle as it may only be just a few degrees warmer versus the lakeside.

While some may be bummed about the lake of warm air, we really should not be shocked. This happens every year around here. It's almost as if we have more than four seasons in southeastern Wisconsin. Actually, I think we have ten seasons around here! And we just finished the "Summer Preview"

So if my thought is correct, real summer should be just around the corner. Hang in there!
