Ozaukee Co. Sheriff’s Office advises residents to check on flood insurance

OZAUKEE COUNTY (CBS 58) – The Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office is advising residents to check on flood insurance following the flooding of August 27.

According to a release, the department says it has found many people are unaware or have been told they can’t get flood insurance when that is not the case in most incidents.

Authorities say many homeowners and businesses could qualify for flood insurance even if they are not in a floodplain.

More information on flood insurance and companies can be found on FEMA’s website.
