Packers, Bears renew rivalry this Sunday
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- It's finally game week for the Green Bay Packers.
After weeks of grueling training camp practices and preseason games, the Packers start the regular season this Sunday with a fascinating test against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.
It's Jordan Love's first season as the full-time starter in Green Bay, and that might be a relief for the Bears. The Packers have won eight straight games in the series, and now hold a 105-95-6 all-time lead in the series.
"The rivalry and all that stuff will take care of itself, but I'm just excited to just play ball," says defensive lineman Kenny Clark. "It's a huge year, just like it is every year, and I'm excited to go out there and compete."
The Packers defense enters the season under a large amount of pressure after underperforming in 2022. They'll try to slow down run-heavy Bears quarterback Justin Fields Sunday.
"(Fields) can throw and he can run," added defensive back Rasul Douglas. "He's not just an average runner who might slide or go out of bounds. He's looking for all the yards he can get. What did he have, like a thousand rushing yards last year? That's more than some running backs."
Las Vegas oddsmakers had Chicago as a one-point favorite as of Monday afternoon.
