Packers fall to Eagles 40-33, now 4-8 on the season
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (CBS 58) -- The Packers fall to 4-8 on the season after losing tonight to the Eagles 40-33.
First Quarter:
To start the game, the Eagles were quick to put the first points up on the board. The Packers struggled to stop Jalen Hurts and the run game of the Eagles.
They ran 10 plays in just under four minutes, including a four-yard touchdown run by Kenneth Gainwell. After the PAT, it was 7-0 Eagles over the Packers.
Once the Packers took over on offense, they couldn't move the ball, and Aaron Rodgers threw an interception to Josiah Scott, his first career pick in the NFL.
The Eagles scored right away after a Miles Sanders 15-yard touchdown run. After the missed PAT, it was 13-0 Eagles.
The Packers responded quickly after a strong touchdown run by AJ Dillon. After the PAT, it was 13-7 Eagles.
Once the Eagles took over on offense, one player to highlight was rookie edge rusher Kingsley Engabare, who was making key stops on the Packers' defense. On that drive, the Packers made a key stop to take over on offense.
The Packers once again started to find their click on offense. Rodgers threw an 11-yard pass to Randall Cobb. After the PAT, the Packers took over the lead 14-13 over the Eagles.
After the first quarter, it was 14-13 Packers.
Second Quarter:
On the first play of the second quarter, Sanders scored another touchdown. After the PAT, the Eagles took over the lead 20-14.
Once the Packers took over, Rodgers threw another interception to Reed Blankenship, who entered the game for CJ Gardner-Johnson, who got hurt.
It didn't take long for the Packers to capitalize on defense. The Packers fumbled the ball, and Quay Walker returned it to scoring range. Shortly after, Rodgers threw a touchdown pass to Aaron Jones. After the missed PAT, we were tied 20-20.
The Eagles scored right before halftime after a 30-yard touchdown reception to Quez Watkins. After the PAT, it was 27-20 Eagles over the Packers.
At halftime, the Eagles had a 27-20 lead over the Packers.
Third Quarter:
The Eagles continued to move the ball well on offense, especially in the run game. Hurts, Sanders and Gainwell continued to get the ground game going to start the second half.
Shortly after, Hurts threw a big pass to Devonta Smith to get them closer to scoring range.
The Eagles scored on a six-yard pass to AJ Brown. After the PAT, the Eagles took a 34-20 lead over the Packers.
The Packers moved the ball and kicked a 29-yard field goal to make it a 34-23 game. Rodgers also headed to the locker room with an oblique injury and was questionable to return.
After the third quarter, it was 34-23 Eagles over the Packers.
Fourth Quarter:
Jordan Love entered the game, but the Packers still struggled on defense. The Eagles kicked a field goal to extend their lead 37-23.
Shortly after, Love threw a touchdown pass to Christian Watson. After the PAT, it was 37-30 Eagles over the Packers.
Shortly after, the Eagles kicked a field goal to make it a 40-30 game.
The Packers then kicked a field goal to make it a 40-33 game.
Next week, the Packers will head to Soldier Field to take on the Chicago Bears.
