Packers fall to Jets 27-10
GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The New York Jets have defeated the Packers 27-10 at Lambeau.
First Quarter:
The Packers came out and didn’t move the ball much on offense. They did get lucky with a pass intended for Robert Tonyan that was ruled an interception. However, it was ruled incomplete. The Jets defense came out strong.
As for the Packers offense, they didn’t move the ball for much of the first quarter. They punted on their first three drives. Their third straight punt came from an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty called on the Jets. However, after a big first down given to the Packers, they were unable to capitalize and ended up punting.
The Packers defense started to turn it on and on a third down play, Rashan Gary had a big sack on Zach Wilson, forcing the Jets to punt.
Within the Packers’ first few plays, Aaron Rodgers threw a pass to Allen Lazard for a big 34-yard gain.
After the first quarter, we were tied 0-0.
Second Quarter:
Once the Jets took over on offense, the Packers made some key stops and forced them to punt. That punt was blocked by the Packers. Shortly after when Green Bay took over, Aaron Jones had a big run for a 22-yard gain. They were unable to do anything after that and were forced to punt.
On their next offensive drive, AJ Dillon fumbled the ball on the first few plays and the Jets took over. They got into the red zone and were able to kick a field goal to put some points on the board to give them a 3-0 lead over the Packers.
Once the Packers took over on offense, they had just one first down then were unable to capitalize after that. Jets took over.
Once the Jets took over, they moved the ball into field goal range. Greg Zuerlein missed a 53-yard field goal. It was still 3-0 Jets.
However, the Packers got the ball back and Mason Crosby kicked a 29-yard field goal to tie the game 3-3.
At halftime, we were tied 3-3.
Third Quarter:
Once the third quarter started, it didn't take too long for the Jets to move the ball in the passing game. That included a pass to Corey Davis for a 41-yard gain and a rushing touchdown by Braxton Berrios, his second one in two weeks. After the PAT, it was 10-3 Jets.
The Packers took over and their struggles continued. The offensive line continued to struggle and the Packers fumbled, Jets recovered, and scored. After the PAT, it was 17-3.
Once the Packers took over, they responded quickly. They scored on their sixth play after an impressive catch by Lazard. That drive was six plays for 75 yards. After the PAT, it was 17-10.
After the third quarter, it was 17-10 Jets.
Fourth Quarter:
Once the Jets took over on offense, rookie running back Breece Hall scored within the first few plays of the drive with a 34-yard run. After the PAT, the Jets put their lead back to 14 at 24-10 over the Packers.
The fourth quarter was quiet for the Packers. In the second half, the Jets gained positive yardage once again and put themselves at the goal line. Once they were at the goal line, the Packers were called on two offsides penalties, but were able to prevent the Jets from putting up six. Instead, they kicked a 23-yard field goal to make it 27-10 Jets.
Jordan Love entered the game with just under two minutes left to go.
