MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — The Green Bay Packers open their 2026 season Sunday on CBS 58, but after Week 1, finding where to watch the team could become more complicated for some fans.

The Packers' schedule includes 10 games on other major networks, along with one game on ESPN, two on Amazon Prime and two on Netflix.

"Fans don't know where to go to get what game, they don't know what the business model is, if it's free, if it's paid, what the quality is gonna be," streaming media analyst Dan Rayburn said.

For fans in the Milwaukee and Green Bay television markets, every Packers game will remain available over the air throughout the season, including games carried nationally by streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime.

"If the team is playing in the local market, it is always free and available, called OTA, over the air, so you have to have an antenna," Rayburn said.

For Packers fans elsewhere in Wisconsin or across the country, however, watching every game could require additional subscriptions.

Amazon Prime costs $14.99 per month, while Netflix plans range from $8.99 to $20 per month.

"It's not easy for a hardworking guy like me," McFarland resident Steve Miller said. "Then you gotta either wait for the replay later in the night on NFL Network or you go to a bar to watch it."

Sports bars have also had to adapt to an increasingly fragmented NFL broadcast landscape.

Major Goolsby's in downtown Milwaukee has built a system designed to give customers access to every NFL game, including Packers games.

"We have an extremely elaborate system that has ten DirecTV boxes, two cable boxes and then we're also able to stream something," Rocky Treder with Major Goolsby's said.

Rayburn expects streaming platforms to continue acquiring more NFL games in the years ahead, adding another layer for fans trying to follow their teams.

"It's very frustrating for fans, the NFL loves to talk about the fan experience but you ask any NFL fan, the fan experience stinks today," Rayburn said.
