MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee mother is pleading with other parents to try to stop the senseless killings of teens in our city.
"This is to the parents of the black community -- our kids are dropping like flies, what are we going to do about it? We, we have to do something about it. We do," said one mother.
That is Jasmond Clemons at a balloon release vigil tonight for her son, 16-year-old J'Shyne Clemons-Madison.
He was killed last night near 47th and Burleigh.
Clemons says her son loved to draw, and he was always home before his 11:00 curfew, but it wasn't enough.
Now, she is asking all parents to get involved in their kids' lives.
"I checked bookbags, I checked phones, I checked under the bed, I checked everything, but I was still blindsided," said Clemons.
Clemons says nothing will bring her son back, but everyone in the community needs to come together to stop the violence.
