Pedestrian, a 25-year-old man, struck and killed by car overnight in Caledonia

CALEDONIA, Wis (CBS 58) -- Caledonia police are reporting that around 12:17 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, officers responded to Hwy 31 and Tabor Rd. for a traffic collision with a pedestrian struck.

According to reports, a 25-year-old man from Racine was walking southbound on Hwy 31 on the east side of the road. A vehicle driven by a 60-year-old man from Raymond was traveling northbound on Hwy 31 and struck the pedestrian.

According to officials, lifesaving efforts were attempted but the pedestrian died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Police say the driver of the vehicle called 911, remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

The accident remains under investigation by the Caledonia Police Department and the Racine County Sheriff’s Office is assisting with the traffic accident reconstruction.
