Pedestrian sustains 'serious' injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Brookfield

BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A pedestrian was left with injuries that officials describe as "serious, but not life-threatening" after being hit by a vehicle in an incident that officials say occurred on Monday, May 29 at around 9:30 p.m.

The collision took place near 124th and Capitol in Brookfield.

Wauwatosa police, who responded to the scene, tells CBS 58 that the driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian remained on the scene and has been cooperating with officials.

Roads in the area were closed shortly after the incident before the scene was cleared by the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department overnight.
