Pewaukee boating accident: 3 hurt, 2 hospitalized

PEWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Pewaukee Lake Patrol is investigating a boating incident that left three people hurt, with two of them having to be hospitalized.

The accident happened Saturday Aug. 24 at 10:15 a.m. and involved two boats on the East Side of Pewaukee Lake, near Peterson Drive in the City of Pewaukee. 

Officials say the collision happened at the sides of each boat as they attempted to veer away from each other.

The 26-year-old driver of one boat was treated on scene, while a 61-year-old man and 58-year-old woman on the other boat were taken to the hospital. Both are expected to survive. 

At this time, alcohol is not believed to be a contributing factor.
