Points of Light and Allstate Foundation Winter Emergency Preparedness Event

Research shows that 85 percent of Americans are unprepared for disasters like severe winter storms, and nearly half lack emergency supplies for use in the event of a disaster.

During this free, family-friendly event, local volunteers will help attendees assemble and take home a complimentary winter emergency preparedness kit, which includes an emergency blanket, flashlight, first aid kit, cleaning supplies and other items. Guests will also receive important information and tips to help prepare for disasters.

This event is the last stop on the Points of Light and Allstate Foundation 14-city disaster preparation tour and education campaign, which began this June. To date, the tour has provided more than 5,600 disaster preparedness kits to residents across the country.
