WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Four robbery suspects are in custody after fleeing from Waukesha police on Wednesday, Feb. 21.
Waukesha police were called to a Meijer shortly after 3:00 p.m. for reports of several people loading bags with over-the-counter medicines.
The suspects took off and police gave chase.
It ended near State Highway 164 and Lawnsdale when the suspects' vehicle got stuck in mud and water near some railroad tracks.
A K9 apprehended one of the suspects after they were uncooperative, according to police.
"A lot of police vehicles were driving back and forth, I mean there was a lot of them pulling in I bet there were probably 15 or 20 different vehicles," said Ed Schmit, neighbor.
"One larger gentleman came out and then two came out in handcuffs and then finally one smaller guy came out," said Schmit.
The suspect that was taken down by the K9 was taken to the hospital. Once they are medically cleared, they will be transported to jail, according to police. The remaining three subjects were transported to the Waukesha County Jail.
All four suspects had addresses listed in Chicago, and officials believe the suspects are part of an organized retail theft crime group from Illinois.
