Police pursuit leads to collision with unrelated vehicle; 2 officers injured

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police say two of their officers are being treated for non-fatal injuries after a collision Monday, Oct. 21. 

Officials say the crash stemmed from a pursuit initiated just before 1 p.m. near 24th and Mineral Street, when officers attempted to stop a vehicle for drug dealing. The driver refused to pull over and a chase began, ending when the suspect vehicle collided with a pole near 24th and Greenfield. Police say the driver got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.

The squad car was involved in a collision with an unrelated vehicle at the same intersection. No other injuries were reported.

Police say suspected illegal narcotics were recovered in the suspect vehicle. Milwaukee police continue to seek an unknown suspect.
