Port Milwaukee announces first cruise of the year, scheduled for April 28

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The weather we're seeing might have you daydreaming of some warmer weather, and once it's here, one way to enjoy it out on the lake is on a cruise. 

There's lots of excitement for 2025 after a successful 2024 cruise season. 

Port Milwaukee is looking to keep that momentum going, starting the season early with the first cruise scheduled for April 28. 

It's one of 22 arriving in Milwaukee this year, with thousands of visitors having a chance to enjoy all Milwaukee has to offer. 

"We take pride in welcoming visitors to experience the many flavors, cultures and stories that can only be found right here on our fresh coast," said Peggy Williams-Smith, president and CEO of VISIT Milwaukee. "With Lake Michigan on our doorstep, our city is in position to offer vibrant and immersive experiences that capture the essence of this region."

This year, Port Milwaukee doesn't expect quite as many visitors as 2024, but they're expecting to break records in 2026 once the redevelopment of the south shore cruise dock is wrapped up.
